Dan Neil Barnes is a Kentucky mixed media artist, specializing in wood, metal and glass. His work is featured at the Kentucky Artisan Center, Artique in Lexington and the Bender Gallery in Ashville, N.C. He tours the country as a juried artist in fine art and craft shows including the American Craft Council National Shows in Baltimore, Atlanta and Sarasota.
Dan has been recognized at many art shows for his outstanding booth design and display technique. After winning design awards for his own booth designs, he became sought after for giving instructional seminars on booth design, merchandising and display. His lectures cover topics such as lighting, floor-plan design and effective construction, including optimal materials for booth display. He has given lectures and seminars on this topic for both individuals and organizations, including the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, The Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, The Kentucky Arts Council, Kentucky Crafted: The Market and the University of Kentucky.
Dan is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in human environmental design, where he studied art, architecture, landscape architecture and interior design.
