​April Brumfield is coordinator of the Music Industry Studies Program and associate Professor at Eastern Kentucky University, teaching courses in booking and touring management, contracts, arts administration, record industry, publishing and licensing. She also serves as the assistant chair coordinating special events and marketing efforts for the music department.  April is managing director and founder of Brumfield & Associates, an agency that handles the careers and touring of a select group of artists including world-renowned jazz trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, organist Tim Brumfield, trumpeter Rex Richardson, humorist Carl Hurley, the Millennium Brass Quintet and the all-female brass quintet Stiletto.  

April has over fifteen years of experience in artist management, programming, fundraising and special events management. She has a master's in arts administration from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and has worked with some of the most renowned artists in classical music, including Jean-Pierre Rampal, Alfred Brendel, James Morris, the Juilliard String Quartet and Zuill Bailey among others. 

April is a Kentucky Peer Advisory Network Consultant for the Kentucky Arts Council and presents yearly professional development workshops for Kentucky artists. She currently serves on the board of directors of the Gallery on Main and the Richmond Arts Council, is president of the Friends of Madison Community Band, is the booking director for the Richmond Centre Summer Concert Series, is an active member of the Performing Arts Exchange Southern Arts Conference, and is Kentucky chairperson for Delta Omicron International Alumni Chapter. 

She is also an accomplished trumpet player and performs with the Sacred Winds Ensemble, the Madison Community Band and as a freelance musician in her spare time.
