Cynthia Carr used the strong foundation she received from her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Cleveland Institute of Art and Master of Fine Arts from Tulane University to begin Crosswinds Pottery in 1988 and sustain it through today. Using her determination and creativity Carr has produced and sold her traditional wheel-thrown stoneware through her studio, art fairs, shops and galleries. She recently introduced a new creative line for the home or garden combining mixed-media objects with clay. Nineteen years of participation in the Kentucky Crafted Program and numerous workshops have enhanced Cynthia’s ability to help further artists in areas such as marketing and promotion, booth design, pricing of wholesale and retail, mentoring, jurying, and product evaluation and development.
