Since 1973, Darrell G. Edwards has made a lifelong career of working with nonprofit organizations since 1973. During this timespan he served as an executive director of orchestras of all budget sizes in cities throughout the United States including: Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; Columbus, Ohio; Dallas, Texas; Buffalo, N.Y.; Charleston, S.C.; Murfreesboro. Tenn. and currently in Bowling Green, Ky. While in South Carolina, Mr. Edwards was a member of the S.C. Peer Advisor Network and as a result conducted consultancies with the Georgetown Arts Council, the Beaufort Chamber Orchestra, the Sandlapper Singers and the Carolina Chamber Music Ensemble. In Kentucky and Tennessee, Mr. Edwards has conducted strategic planning retreats for Orchestra Kentucky, the Pennyroyal Arts Council, Orchestra Kentucky Encore and the Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Edwards is equally comfortable consulting with any arts organizations or individual artists in the following areas: long range planning; budgeting; public relations and marketing; board of director development; board committee development; board self-assessment evaluations; artist evaluations; administrative evaluations; volunteer related assistance; special events; fundraising (annual, endowment or capital campaigns); and educational program development.
