Mary Margaret Villines’ experience with development and public relations includes a long history of success in all aspects of fundraising: annual and special campaigns, foundation and government contributions, capital fund drives, major gifts, planned giving, and grant writing. Currently serving as development director for Kentucky Repertory Theatre, she brings in more than one-half of the theater’s total operating funds. In addition, she handles the theater’s endowment fund drives and its capital campaigns. She writes an average of thirty grants annually with an 85 percent success rate. Having served as public relations director for Spalding University in Louisville,Ky., and Stage One: The Louisville Children’s’ Theatre, she has a strong sense of the value of public relations in effective fundraising. She has used these techniques to produce major increases in income for all of these organizations. She has held numerous volunteer positions, including her current position on the board of directors of the Hart County Historical Society. Her extensive experience working in nonprofit organizations has provided her with the expertise required to work effectively with boards, volunteers, staff and artists. She is also involved in community development as a member of the Horse Cave Cultural District Committee and Vision Hart County.
