Marianne Brown has been a full-time potter in Kentucky for over 25 years, teaching in clay for almost as long. She has been working with both kids and adults at the Living Arts and Science Center in Lexington, Ky. for 15 years and the Bluegrass Art Center in Danville, Ky. for three years. Marianne holds a BFA from the Memphis College of Art and spent one summer working at Penland School of Craft as a teacher's aid. She is a juried member of the Kentucky Arts Council's Kentucky Crafted program and the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen and has been selling her work both retail and wholesale for even longer. Marianne loves working with kids of all ages in clay because it builds their self-confidence, it shows them that the possibilities are endless, and it stretches the imagination. If you have an image or idea in your mind there is a way to make it in clay!
